Carla McCarthy
Operations Manager
Cultural Cyber Security
Carla is an experienced investigator of 27 years with the Queensland Police Service. Having attained the rank of Senior Sergeant and the qualification of Detective she gained first-hand the experience of leadership, management, problem solving, planning, organising, training and administration. Carla had many years of experience working in the Fraud and Cybercrime Group as well as a range of other investigative disciplines.
This experience saw her selected to be the National Coordinator, Writer and Manager of a National Terrorism Exercise that culminated in the deployment of hundreds of personnel in a variety of incident response roles in a “live” event. This was supported by a range of Desktop Exercises all designed to test a draft national policy that she wrote for the establishment of Terrorist Incident Response Centres.
This Policy was later adopted into Queensland legislation. Carla then took a senior training position within the Queensland Police Incident Command Team and then later the Queensland Police Leadership Centre honing her excellent presentation skills. An experienced and qualified Course designer and assessor, Carla brings a unique insight and rare skills blend into the world of Cyber Security. Carla joins the CCS Team adding further to an extraordinary skill set that will service the needs of the CCS client and their challenging environments.
